About Us

Who We Are

The Haraden family has called Schenectady County and the Capital Region home since the early 1900s. Joseph Haraden was recruited by Thomas Edison to come work for General Electric after graduating from MIT. Seeing a need for a car dealership in the booming city of Schenectady, Joseph Haraden began what is now Mohawk Honda in 1919. The dealership would become the first Honda dealership in the area in 1971 and moved to its current location in Glenville in 2011, while maintaining its original Schenectady location to serve that community. Now in its third generation of ownership, the Haraden family keeps the local community at the heart of what Mohawk Honda does.

Project Highlights

Some of Our Work in the Community

The C.O.B.R.A. Anti-Bully Action Plan is a law enforcement based anti-bullying program that is non-violent and non-confrontational. The program treats bullying like a crime and follows proven, established protocols against the bully.

Pet Adoption

Working with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society to help get the word out and help them get some furry friends adopted. What a great turn out...15 rescues and a lot of adoptions.

We participated in the Saratoga Rally to support the Saratoga Automobile Museum in their fight to end distracted driving.

We collected clothing for the month of April and donated them to the City Mission of Schenectady. The Mission offers clothing, free of charge, for their residents and members of the community.

Duck Derby

We had the opportunity to sponsor and participate in the 4th Annual Duck Derby for Autism to benefit the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region, NY and the Adirondack Aquatic Center. Adopting one of the ducks in the race is an easy way to show support our community of individuals on the Autism spectrum and their families.

Law Enforcement Torch Run - Special Olympics

The mission of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement. We got to be a part of the special tradition by providing a pace car.

Vanderheyden Tour and Check Presentation

We had the privilege of presenting 10,000 dollars to Vanderheyden to support what they are doing in the local community. We are proud to support this awesome community organization working to inspire troubled youth to reach their goals and overcome tough circumstances.

Representing at the Joe

We participated in the Capital Region Series Charity Corporate baseball tournament at the Joe Bruno Stadium. Proceeds benefit the New York-Penn League Charitable Foundation, and assist in the renovation of local youth ball fields in the Capital Region! Such a fun time for the family to have a fun competitive baseball game.
